Police search for jail escapee

A jail inmate is on the run after escaping from the lockup in Montgomery County.

A jail official says 22-year-old Nelson Myers got away by climbing to the roof of the jail through an air conditioning vent and then jumping from the top of the building.

Guards discovered Myers missing following a head count around 1:00 in the morning on Monday.

Myers, who's from Owingsville, was being held on burglary charges.

State police are now in charge of the search.
