CAMPBELLSBURG, Ky. (AP) - Police said one person was killed and
four others injured, including two children, during a weekend wreck in northern Kentucky.
Kentucky State Police said the accident Sunday evening on U.S. 42 in Gallatin County occurred when a driver turned in front of a vehicle driving in the opposite direction.
Police said Lonna D. Kehrer of Sanders, Ky., was killed and three other people in her vehicle suffered serious injuries. The driver of the other car, Brian J. Ritchey II of Bluff City, Tenn., had minor injuries.
Two children, 9-year-old Kaitlyn Keith and 3-year-old Savannah Stevens, were taken to Cincinnati's Children's Hospital.
State police said this was the second fatal accident over the Memorial Day weekend where the deceased person wasn't wearing a seat belt.
