Tornado sirens activated in Scott County

Tornado sirens blasted across Scott County Monday afternoon.

Two sheriff's deputies spotted what appeared to be a funnel cloud around I-75 in the southern part of the county.

The Emergency Management Agency told 27 NEWSFIRST even though there was no warning issued, they sounded the alert as a precaution.

911 dispatchers took hundreds of calls from people who thought they saw a shape that looked like a funnel, but it was only an ominous-looking cloud.
