Lexington's mayor-elect, Jim Newberry, announced his transition team Friday morning.

Police Chief Anthany Beatty and Vice-Mayor elect Jim Gray are both on the team, as well as Newberry's co-campaign chairs.

Friday morning Newberry hosted the new city council at his home for breakfast.

Newberry says he wants to talk with the people he will be working with, and get to know some of them before they start the city's work in January.

Both Newberry and Gray agree that getting along does not mean that the council will have the same opinion about everything.

Newberry met with Lexington Mayor Teresa Isaac Thursday to begin working on the transition.

Since winning Tuesday's election, Newberry has been dashing between appointments, getting ready to take reins at city hall in January.
