Lexington Police Investigate Violent Attack Near Busy Shopping Area

Lexington Police are investigating a woman's report that she was raped and kidnapped. According to a police report the incident started Saturday evening at parking lot on Marketplace drive, that’s near the intersection of Nicholasville Road and Man O’War.

In the police report the woman says a man who implied he had a gun forced her into the trunk of her car.The woman told police the man then drove her to another part of town and raped her.

Lexington Police say they are investigating the incident as a random attack. The woman told police her attacker was a stranger. She did give them a description.

The police report says officers are reviewing surveillance tape from the parking lot as part of their investigation.
