Woman Charged With Murder In 4th Death From Jessamine County Crash

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A woman facing murder charges in the
deaths of three children has been indicted on another count of
murder.

A grand jury in Jessamine County indicted Melissa Helton, 41, on
Monday, in the death of Lori Latham, the Lexington Herald-Leader
reported. Latham, 40, died Nov. 4 from injuries related to the Aug. 22 van crash that also killed three children.

Helton was driving a 2002 Kia Sedona minivan that ran off a road
in Jessamine County, hit a tree and burst into flames. Emily Preston, 10, Caleb Hildenbrandt, 11, and Heltons son, Nicholas, 12, died in the crash. Heltons daughter, Madison, 9, survived. Melissa Helton also was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and driving under the influence.
