Hundreds of people in Southern Kentucky and Eastern Tennessee received free medical care this weekend.
Remote Area Medical holds a clinic at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate every year - and this time volunteers treated more patients than ever.
This is the 571st Remote Area Medical Expedition, and founder Stan Brock says it's getting hard to keep up.
"Now we can't keep up with the demand and with the downturn in the economy. The demand does seem to be increasing, I'm sorry to say," said Brock.
Volunteers provide medical, dental, vision and even veterinary care for pets. This weekend more than 800 patients and 250 animals were treated free of charge.
It's estimated more than 50% of the 829 patients seen this weekend are unemployed.
