Police arrested William Burdine Thursday afternoon behind the Best Buy on Nicholasville Road.

Burdine was found fully clothed, but police say when he escaped he was only wearing boxer shorts and tennis shoes.

He's accused of raping a woman at a rest stop off I-75 in Whitley County back in 2004.

Lexington police, along with UK police, searched several areas around the UK Medical center, looking for Burdine. Police say he was discharged from the hospital at around 9:15 Wednesday night when he escaped from the custody of a State Department of Corrections guard.

That's when he shed his hospital gown and ran out of the hospital.
At around 11:20 Wednesday night, police got a call from someone who thought they saw Burdine at the Greg Page Apartments near Alumni Drive.

Lexington police say they arrest ended peacefully and Burdine is now in custody.
