Wet Roads Blamed for Deadly Crash

One man is dead after a crash in Estill County. It happened Thursday night, just north of Irvine, near the Estill-Powell County line. Two cars hit head-on, on Kentucky 82.

Police say the man, in his 20s, lost control of his Honda Civic while going around a curve. The car went into the opposite lane of traffic and hit an SUV.

The driver of the Civic died. The airbags deployed in the Mercedes SUV, leaving a husband and wife with minor injuries.

State Police say the weather likely played a role in the crash.

People living in the area say this curve has been a major concern for quite some time. They would like to see it straightened out.
