A Lexington church has hit a roadblock in its fight for a new place of worship.
Quest Community Church wants to build a 90,000 foot church in an area that is zoned for agricultural use.
The 40 acres of land is on Man O'War Boulevard near Dunbar High School.
The church has asked for the land be re-zoned, but the city council voted down the request for the third time Thursday night.
The decision from council members came after a four hour meeting.
Seven council members voted in favor of the re-zoning request, six voted no.
It needed eight yes votes to pass.
