Fire Destroys Merchandise Inside Store

An arson investigation is underway in Morehead after a fire ripped through a home interior store.

The fire started early Saturday morning at "The Villa" in the Lewis Place Shopping Center on Flemingsburg Road.

The fire destroyed all the merchandise inside. The building suffered major smoke damage.

Investigators say a pre-lit Christmas tree was in the area where the fire started, and it appears to be accidental at this time.
