LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - State inspection records show a miniature
train that overturned at the Louisville Zoo was involved in an
accident in 2007 in which a woman was injured.
The Courier-Journal reported that the October 2007 accident
happened during Halloween festivities, when the front axle broke on
one of the cars.
A rider complained to the zoo that she had a "burning twinge in
the middle of her back" but did not receive immediate treatment.
The report did not detail whether any lasting injury occurred.
Three open-air train cars overturned on Monday and the engine
fell off the tracks, resulting in 22 people being taken to area
The train ride, which loops two miles around the zoo, remains
closed as state officials investigate.
