Leak On N. Broadway Causes Black Ice & Traffic Delay

Leak On North Broadway

Kentucky American Water crews worked to repair a leak in a one-inch pipe Tuesday morning. It happened on North Broadway near New Circle Road.

The leak was underground, but the water rose to surface level causing black ice to form. Transportation Department trucks deposited salt along the road starting early in the morning to keep accidents from happening.

Lexington Police directed traffic throughout the morning as one inbound lane was closed for repairs. Kentucky American Water tells 27 Newsfirst they expect the repairs to be completed by nine a.m.
