Rose Street Closure Causes Delays On UK's Campus

From now on, drivers near the UK campus may have to take a different route. Rose Street is now closed to thru traffic at South Limestone.

There's a special cut-through to get to the UK Medical Center, but it's only for hospital traffic.

UK received approval to close Rose Street after agreeing to extend Huguelet Drive at a cost of nearly five million dollars.

Officials originally thought about closing Rose Street around noon Monday, but engineers decided to make the change at ten o'clock Monday night so the traffic signal transfer could be completed when traffic is lighter.
