The most likely place you will be pulled over in Fayette County is on Interstate 75 near milemarkers 104 and 105. Nearly 300 of 1200 tickets written have come there.
West New Circle comes in second. 1059 tickets were given there over the last eight months. Nearly half of those have been written near old Frankfort Pike. If you didn't know, the police station is located there. 332 speeding tickets were also written on West New Circle at Harrodsburg Road.
Interstate 64 is the where the third most tickets were issued. The majority of citations have been occurring between milemarkers 83 and 84.
At number four, Paris Pike with 685 speeding tickets written there. More than half (372) have targeted drivers on Blue Ribbon Lane.
East New Circle between Alumni and Nicholasville roads is where the fifth most speeding tickets have been handed out.
Versailles Road comes in at number 6. 542 tickets written there, a little less than half have come at the intersection of Old Versailles Road.
Number 7 is on Athens Boonesboro Road. The majority have been written at the intersection of Hays Blvd.
Man o'war is 8th with 329 speeding tickets written on this 17 mile stretch. Nearly half though have come at the intersection of Gladman Way.
Richmond Road and Sir Barton Way round out the top 10 places speeding tickets have been issued in the last year.
Lt. James Turley of the Lexington Police Dept. Says "Our data says we need to be at these places. We don't intend to go out and write a lot of citations. We want to keep drivers safe and keep our community safe."
