FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear and legislative leaders are scheduled to appear on statewide television to discuss the General Assembly's upcoming special session.
Beshear, House Speaker Greg Stumbo and Senate President David
Williams are all scheduled to be guests on Kentucky Tonight with host Bill Goodman. The show airs Monday night at 8 p.m. eastern time.
Beshear has called the legislature into a special session on June 15. He's ordered lawmakers to consider a proposal to allow video gambling at Kentucky's horse racing tracks and deal with legislation aimed at resolving a $1 billion dollar budget shortfall.
The governor also wants tax incentives for new and existing businesses, and the creation of an authority to oversee construction of major bridges between Kentucky and Indiana.
