Winning jockey pushing video gambling

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Derby winning jockey Calvin Borel is jumping on board the state's gambling issue days after losing his bid to become the first jockey to win a personal Triple Crown.

A press release from the Kentucky Equine Education Project says Borel is helping the organization push for the legalization of video gambling machines at the state's horse racing tracks. The jockey who rode Mine That Bird to victory in the Derby and filly Rachel Alexandra to success in the Preakness is being featured in a radio and direct mail campaign.

Borel also won the 2007 Kentucky Derby atop Street Sense.

Gov. Steve Beshear has ordered a special session for next Monday
dealing with the state's budget and his gambling proposal, among other issues.
