What started as a domestic dispute ended violently, with a son in the hospital and his mother's home destroyed.

There's not much left of this home in Pulaski County. Sheriff's deputies tell us the fire began after a fight between a mother and her son. Police say When Marcia Bolin ran next door to her neighbor's home her son caught her home on fire. Firefighters tell us when they got to the home on Jacksboro Road it was completely engulfed in flames. They say 24 year old Scotty Hogan admitted to setting the fire.

Sometime before the authorities arrived on the scene, Hogan ran back into the house to save a family pet. He suffered third degree burns to his face., hands, and back and had to be airlifted to UK Medical Center's burn unit.

Fire officials tell us he appeared mentally and physically distraught at the time. Hogan could face arson charges when he's released.

The Pulaski County Sheriff, State Fire Marshall and Bronston Fire Department are investigating. They tell us they do not believe any accelerants were used to start the fire.
