Mother Defends Son Accused Of Setting Home On Fire

Print

A mother says her son had no intentions of hurting her when he allegedly set their Pulaski County home on fire and will not press charges.

Firefighters arrived at the home early Thursday morning, and found the home fully engulfed.

Sheriff's Deputies tell us 24-year Scotty Hogan set the home on fire after an argument with his mother, Marcia Bolin. They also say Hogan admitted to setting the fire.

Bolin talked with 27NEWSFIRST Thursday night. She says Hogan wasn't trying to hurt her. Bolin says her son had a bad reaction to some new medication he started taking. She also said that he needs psychiatric help and not time in jail.

Hogan suffered third degree burns to his face, hands, and back. He's being treated at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Hogan could face arson charges.
