OWENSBORO, Ky. (AP) - State officials have fined a western Kentucky business after a deadly accident.
The Messenger-Inquirer reports the Kentucky Labor Cabinet issued a $3,500 fine for Owensboro Grain Co. due to a silo collapse in October that killed a worker.
Owensboro Grain chief financial officer Jeff Erb says the company is appealing the fine because a cause for the collapse wasn't found.
Erb says Owensboro Grain has since torn down the rest of its silos to prevent any other such accidents.
