A central Kentucky family is having to find somewhere else to live.

Heavy rains that suddenly moved through Cynthiana Wednesday morning left their home on Old Lair Road in ruins.

An inch of rain fell in about an hour. Swift waters swept away the foundation, meaning the entire house could collapse at any moment.

"My wife and kids were inside asleep," explains Roy Richmond, who lived in the home. "They heard this big rumble. The whole front (of the house) caved in."

Richmond says to make matters worse, they moved into the rental Friday.

"Now I've got to move everything back out," he said.

The house has been deemed unlivable. The Richmond's landlord says he does have a place the family can stay.

The family has set up a fund to help them with moving expenses and replacing lost items at the Kentucky Bank in Cynthiana.
