Fort Campbell soldier killed in Afghanistan


FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) - The military says a Fort Campbell
soldier from California has died from a non-combat injury in
Afghanistan.
The Defense Department said Wednesday that 25-year-old Spc.
Eduardo S. Silva of Greenfield, Calif., died Tuesday at Bagram
Airfield. The death is under investigation.
Silva was a food service specialist assigned to the Headquarters
Support Company, 563rd Aviation Support Battalion, 159th Combat
Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division.
Silva entered the Army in August 2006 and arrived at Fort
Campbell in July 2008, according to the post on the
Kentucky-Tennessee line.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalinda Silva, of King City,
Calif.; and parents, Sara and Eduardo Silva, also of King City.
