Now there's more evidence the democratic race could get crowded since businessman Billy Harper officially announced his candidacy for the republicans Wednesday morning.

Harper has made it at least a two man race for the republicans running against governor Ernie Fletcher; whose campaign Harper helped boost and finance in 2003.

For the democrats, it's more waiting for congressman Ben Chandler, his former campaign manager still says there's a chance he could run.

Rumors are swirling now that Chandler's 2003 primary opponent Bruce Lunsford is considering getting back in the race. Lunsford dropped out days before the primary in May, then endorsed Governor Fletcher in the general election. Dale Emmons, his campaign manager for that race, says the race is still wide open, but Lundsford is getting some support.

There is word that State Senator Daniel Mongiardo is strongly considering a run for the state's top office. Mongiardo narrowly lost a U-S Senate race to Jim Bunning two years ago

Mongiardo says he's searching for a running mate at this point in time.
