A popular music festival that is an annual tradition in the bluegrass kicks off Thursday afternoon.
The crowds have already gathered for the annual Ichthus festival in Wilmore.
Every year, tens of thousands of Christian music fans gather to hear some of the biggest bands in the industry and preaching from nationally recognized speakers.
The first Ichthus music festival was held in 1970. It was started by Asbury Seminary students, as an alternative to the 1969 Woodstock festival in upstate New York.
The christian music festival has had to deal with bad weather in the past. Strong storms caused problems last year, and Thursday morning, people who were camped out had to deal with a round of rough weather.
The festival will run all weekend and will wrap up late Saturday night.
