Robbery Suspect Arrested After Two County Chase

Video will be available shortly

A high speed police chase ends with a crash after a violent robbery in Casey County.

It all started after a man threatened to shoot a clerk at Byrd Grocery store in Gilpin. The man came in wearing a mask and caught the clerk by surprise. She was able to get his license plate number when he took off.

The suspect led police on a 20 minute high speed chase. The chase reached speeds of up to 80 miles per hour.

Police say the chase ended when the suspect took a curve too fast, hit a few trees and crashed.

Police arrested 29-year-old Anthony Peyton of Liberty just over the Adair County line. He's charged with robbery, fleeing and evading, wanton endangerment and driving on a suspended license.
