Some storms are possible during the morning and afternoon on Tuesday. Damaging winds and flooding will be the main threats. With an already soaked ground, expect strong winds to easily bring down some trees.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Firefighters say an explosion inside a Louisville factory has injured one worker and caused a flash fire.
The blast just after noon EDT Thursday at Nuplex Resins occurred as a large kettle was being cleaned with solvents. Maj. Carroll Haueter with the Louisville Fire Department says the explosion injured a worker who was walking nearby. Haueter says officials don't yet know what caused the blast.
Haueter says the worker suffered second- and third-degree burns over 20 percent of his body. He was taken to University Hospital.
Haueter says the blast was "significant," but there are no hazardous materials to be cleaned up at the site. All other workers were evacuated and accounted for, he said.
Nuplex develops resin-based coatings, according to the company's Web site.
