Chandler Says He's Not Running For Governor

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - U-S Representative Ben Chandler said today
that he will not run for governor next year.

Chandler lost to Governor Fletcher in the last gubernatorial
race. He has scheduled a press conference for this afternoon at his
office in Lexington.

Chandler won re-election to his congressional seat in November. He said in a press release that he plans to honor the support of the voters by giving my full commitment to the his congressional post.

Chandler is the third high-profile Democrat to say he would not enter the 2007 race. State Auditor Crit Luallen and Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson announced recently they would not seek the Democratic nomination.
