Police still investigating body found in park

An autopsy was done Friday to determine how a woman, found dead in a Lexington lake, died.

Two fishermen spotted a van submerged in the water at Jacobson Park on Thursday morning. It was potted near the paddle boat rental area.

When police came to investigate, they found the body of 48-year-old Cheryl Carter of Lexington inside the vehicle.

The Fayette County Coroner says Carter died from drowning, but police aren't commenting about the manner of her death.

Police did say they didn't see any obvious signs of foul play.
