Firefighters batted flames in a trailer in Lexington on Friday, but it was all in the name of training.
The Lexington Fire Department has been holding classes in connection with the State Fire School, attracting firefighters throughout Kentucky.
Several sessions included hands on training, including an exercise in a trailer with simulations.
Firefighters say this type of training is very important.
"When you're in a situation that's real, you always want your training to fall back on," said trainee Jeff Goshon.
"The more fire I'm able to see, the better able I'll be able to serve my community eventually," said trainee Tom Sanderson.
Classes will continue through the weekend. Other sessions include farm and animal rescue as well as confined space rescue.
