It's been two years since Clay City Police Chief Randy Lacy was shot and killed by a man he was attempting to take to jail.

Friday, his family marked the anniversary by seeing a dream of his come true.

The community is turning the anniversary of a tragedy into a heartwarming grand-opening with a new restaurant called Randy Lacy's Place.

His family says it was always Randy Lacy's dream to someday open a restaurant when he retired from the police department.

The Lacy family says they did not want to see his dream fade away, so they took it upon themselves to put the plan into action.

Chief Lacy's family are all chipping in anyway they can to make sure the restaurant is a success.
