Man Claims Thousands of Bodies Buried At Local Hospital

It's almost too gruesome to believe. A Lexington man says thousands of bodies may be buried at Eastern State Hospital.

He says patients who died decades ago were put in unmarked mass graves.

Bruce Burris recently started an Eastern State Cemetery Club in an effort to protect a small cemetery there. He believes there are more than 10-thousand people buried on hospital grounds.

Burris says hospital records show more than 4400 sets of human remains were discovered back in the '80's during construction of the Loudon Avenue extension.

Burris says he is contacted nearly once a week by someone who is trying to track down a relative, who is believed to be buried at Eastern State.
