Twenty-three year old Ttheodore West was killed Wednesday while on combat patrol in Baghdad.
West was killed just one day shy of a month in Iraq.
West is the 50th kentucky soldier to die in the war on terror.
The soldier's parents describe him as a caring person who not only worried about his family and his country, but also for his fellow soldiers that didn't have the family support he received.
A day after West was killed, his family received his last letter to them.
If you would like to help the soldiers, the West family is collecting blankets in their son's honor.
They are collecting blankets for the soldiers because their son always talked about how cold it was in Iraq.
You can donate a blanket to the Red House Baptist Church in Richmond.
