Some storms are possible during the morning and afternoon on Tuesday. Damaging winds and flooding will be the main threats. With an already soaked ground, expect strong winds to easily bring down some trees.
One person is dead and two others injured in a deadly crash along a Kentucky roadway.
On Tuesday morning, a car collided with a dump truck in the Shopville community, along Kentucky 80 near Price Valley Road in Pulaski County.
Police say a 1998 Saturn, driven by 50-year-old Carl Madon, crossed the center line and sideswiped a dump truck, driven by 35-year-old Larry Cheeks of Manchester.
Police say Cheeks swerved to try to avoid the collision, but ended up spilling part of his load and overturning.
Madon's wife, Sherri, was sitting in the back seat of the car with her two-year-old granddaughter, Angela. Sherri Madon was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members say the Madons were taking their granddaughter to the doctor. She was taken to the hospital to be checked out, but has since been released.
Carl Madon was airlifted from the scene to UK Hospital where he's listed in serious condition. Cheeks, the dump truck driver, was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
Police are crediting the two-year-old's child safety seat with saving her life.
The road has been shut down for hours while a accident reconstruction unit investigates the crash. Traffic is being diverted onto Price Valley Road.
