Police announced Wednesday afternoon that Kim's body was found in the Oregon coast range. That is the same area crews have been searching for the past two days.
Hundreds of people began looking for the young man after finding his wife and daughters in their snowbound car on Monday. Rescuers say they took the search personally.
Early Wednesday, search crews reported finding some of Kim's clothing and other items. Authorities believe Kim may have left the items as markers to help find him, but there was also speculation he could have suffered hypothermia and became disoriented.
Kim was a Kentucky native and graduated from Ballard High School in Louisville in 1989.
