Well known philanthropist dies

A man whose name graces the faculty club at UK and its tennis center has died.

Hilary Boone, Jr. Died at the age of 91 at his Fayette County home.

Mr. Boone built Wimbledon Farm after returning from WWII, where he served in the army. Kentucky Derby winner Spectacular Bid was raised there.

Later, he gave UK a million dollars to build a new faculty club. The UK tennis center is also named in his honor.

There will be no visitation and services are to be private.
