Dog drowns in Lake Cumberland

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife has had its first canine lost in the line of duty.

The dog, named Shilo, died at the Jamestown Marina at Lake Cumberland.

That's where an officer and Shilo had responded to a call, and the dog was left tied to the boat, but Shilo jumped in the water to look for the officer and ended up hanging in the water.

A woman came along to help, but the animal sank after being let go from the rope.
