A passenger, desperately in need of medical help on a trans-Atlantic flight, gets it, thanks to a central Kentucky doctor.
UK Hospital officials say Doctor Mauro Giordani was on a flight to Rome, when the flight attendants came over the PA system, requesting medical help.
Dr. Giordani was able to lend a hand to a man who had fallen ill on the flight.
The passenger who he helped later sent a thank you note, saying he had since been diagnosed with more complications than he'd previously known about.
Earlier this week, a call went out for doctors on board at Continental Airlines flight from Europe to Newark, NJ, but in that case, the pilot died.
The crew was able to take over the plane without the passengers knowing, and land the plane safely.
