Soldier Funeral 
Theodore "Coty" West was a soldier in Iraq, who was killed in the line of duty just two weeks ago. Yet West's family arrived at his service worried that some people who show up, may not be there to pay respects to the soldier.
A group from Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas was expected to protest at the funeral today, but the funeral went uninterrupted. The group did not show up during the services, leaving time for family and friends to pay their respects.
The 23-year old soldier died when a roadside bomb exploded near his patrol. A visitation service was held Friday night at Berea Baptist Church.
When asked about how he felt about the group who planned to protest at his son's funeral, Bill West said, " its a slap in the face to "Coty", but they're slapping themselves in the face too."
" I think they are slapping themselves harder, they'll feel the pain later, "Coty" won't," West said.
The group members say they are Christians and on the Westboro Baptist Church website "Coty" West's funeral was next on their agenda to protest.
The group has frequently picketed funeral services of U.S. service men, protesting because they say the military has accepted homosexuality.
