Louisville child killed in accident

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A 1-year-old girl is dead after a family member accidentally ran over her in a store parking lot in Louisville.

Jefferson County deputy Coroner Gayle Norris identified the child on Monday as 16-month-old Brooklyn Frazier.

Louisville Metro Police spokesman Phil Russell told The Courier-Journal that the child's family had been shopping Sunday afternoon when an adult left the store to go to a vehicle. Russell said the adult was unaware the child had followed him and drove forward, running over her.

Norris said the toddler died at Kosair Children's Hospital a short time later of multiple blunt force injuries.
