General showers will be the main action over the next few hours. A few could remain on the strong to severe side in eastern parts of Kentucky.
People are remembering a soldier from Harlan County who was killed in action.
First Sergeant John Blair died after a rocket attack in Afghanistan on Saturday.
Blair lived in Calhoun, Georgia, but grew up in Harlan County, where he played on the 1987 Cumberland High School football team that played in a state title game.
One of his teammates says Blair died doing what he loved.
"Freedom isn't free, freedom comes at a price and that price is blood. Everything we enjoy today, is paid for by people like John," said Trampus King.
Sergeant Blair's body is expected by in the U.S. sometime tonight or early tomorrow.
His funeral arrangements are pending.
