Fire Destroys Richmond Home; Family Believes Curling Iron Is To Blame

Video will be available shortly

Richmond Firefighters say a house fire broke out around 4:00 in the evening on Pin Oak Drive, just across from the Arlington Golf Course.

Fire officials say flames were shooting out of the home's windows when they arrived on the scene.

Luckily a father and son were able to escape from the fire with no injuries. Firefighters were concerned about oxygen tanks that were in the home at the time of the fire. Officials say the father suffers from lung problems and uses the oxygen tanks.

We're told everything inside the home suffered severe damage by heat and smoke.

The family tells us their insurance company set them up in an apartment for the night. The family also said they believe the fire started from a curling iron left turned on by a younger daughter.
