Kentucky Music Legend Dies

A Kentucky legend in Bluegrass music is gone.
Monday night, 27 NEWSFIRST learned of the passing of Homer Ledford.

Born in Tennessee, he moved to Kentucky, and lived in Winchester for 51-years.

Ledford made thousands of dulcimers, Kentucky's official instrument.
One of his dulcimers is on a rotating display at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, along with a banjo he made.

His widow, Colista, told 27 NEWSFIRST they were married 53-years. She says her husband had been ill for about six months.

Homer Ledford was 79.
