Liquor Restrictions On New Year's Eve

Video will be available shortly

If you plan to hit the town to ring in the New Year, you may run into some hurdles in Lexington.

December 31st is a Sunday. That means restaurants and bars are limited on what alcohol they can serve and how late.

Under the Sunday alcohol sale restrictions, bars and restaurants can stay open until 1am, but they can only sell beer or wine coolers after 11pm.

But bars, hotels, and convention centers can sell any top shelf liquor or champagne until after two.

Some bars owners say it's a double standard.

Some patrons say they will likely not party at bars this New Year's Eve.

As usual, Lexington liquor stores will also be closed on Sunday, December 31st.
