Case against murder suspect moves forward

A Lexington man, accused of gunning down his girlfriend, has been indicted.

In addition to a murder charge, Edward Stokley is charged with wanton endangerment and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

Police say Stokley shot Lavena Gibson outside a home on Bishop Drive, back in April.

The Herald Leader reports he will be arraigned Wednesday morning. He's being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.
