The Estill County Superintendent, Bert Hensley, tells 27 NEWSFIRST that all schools are closed for the rest of the week.

Hensley says all Estill County elementary, middle, and high schools are shutdown for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The school closings are due to a flu outbreak confirmed by the health department. The health department says at least 4 to 5 flu cases have been confirmed so far and they are still looking into other suspicious cases.

Hensley says about 20% of students are already out sick.

We're told classes will resume as usual on Monday.
