Police believe the accident happened around 7:00 this morning. But they say no one witnessed the accident so it wasn't reported until around 9:00 a.m.

That's when people started calling police to report a car down in the embankment.

Police then found that a white male had been killed in the wreck.

Police say the driver was going southbound in the northbound lane, lost control, and ended up in the median. The driver's car then went down the overpass and jumped the railroad tracks overpass on US 27 just south of the bypass.

Police are still investigating what caused the man to lose control of his vehicle. We'll bring you the latest in this accident on 27 NEWSFIRST.
