Isaac May Veto Nepotism Ruling

The Lexington Herald Leader is reporting Mayor Teresa Isaac may veto the Council's decision to change the city's nepotism law.
The move cleared the way for Police Chief Anthany Beatty to become the new public safety commissioner.

Mayor-elect Jim Newberry asked the council to change the nepotism rules because Chief Beatty's son is a Lexington fire fighter.

Isaac told the newspaper she is considering a veto because she's received a lot of public criticism.

The Mayor says she will make a decision by Friday.
