A busy Kentucky highway was closed for several hours Friday after a deadly crash involving a motorcycle.
Police say a woman riding a motorcycle lost control of the bike on US 27 South in Garrard County.
Two other vehicles in front of the motorcycle had stopped on the road and police say it appears the bike rider tried to brake too hard to avoid hitting those cars. The bike rider lost control, causing the bike to slide on its side. Police say the bike slid into the oncoming lane of traffic and was hit by a car.
The woman on the bike was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released her identity.
Police say this appears to be just a terrible accident. No charges are expected.
