Sole Survivor of Flight 5191 Releases Statement

I left Lexington with mixed feelings to return to Florida to continue my recovery. I am happy to be back at home, but I am at a loss to express adequately my gratitude to the people of Kentucky. I want to thank the emergency personnel who risked their lives to save mine. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to all of the doctors, nurses, therapists, and other medical professionals who cared for me during multiple surgeries and ongoing rehabilitation therapy. I also want to thank all of the people from Kentucky and elsewhere whose notes and letters and prayers helped to see me through the most difficult times.

The support of my family, as well as the entire “Comair family,” has been, and will continue to be, an important part of my path toward recovery.

Not a day goes by that I don’t think of the passengers and crew of Flight 5191. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to their loved ones, and they will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
