Worker Injured When Concrete Slab Falls Over

Video will be available shortly

A worker is recovering after being hurt by a falling concrete slab.

It happened Tuesday afternoon at the Continental Inn just off New Circle Road, near Jennifer Drive. The building is in the process of being demolished.

Workers were trying to save concrete for re-cycling, when something happened that made part of a four to five inch thick slab of concrete roofing give way. It landed on the worker's foot.

It took fire and rescue workers more than an hour to free the man.

Doctors at the UK Hospital are determining whether they can save the worker's crushed foot.
